New Addition

There's a new addition to my household. A baby boy named Rusty. He's a mutt, but I can see Jack Russell Terrier in him. He's white with brown spots and just cute as can be.

Now, I know you're saying, "But April, you had to get rid of your crazy kitty because you're not allowed to have pets in your new house!" This is true. Very very true, but I just absolutely HAD to bring this puppy home. We found him almost dead because he was infested with fleas so badly that they were just sucking the life out of him. When we gave him a bath, he didn't even put up a struggle, AND he didn't even have enough energy to scratch himself from where the fleas were biting him.

So with some food, water, flea shampoo, and TLC he's now a happily loved playful puppy! His ears now perk up and his little puppy tail just wags with excitement! I will post pictures soon.

it's really sad, though. i wonder what happened to his previous owner(s)?

It takes a real tough guy to neglect a defenseless puppy and leave it for dead.

Macca-I though kitties were the other white meat? Isn't that the key ingredient in Chinese food??

Mikey & Maine-I was bringing my husband to his hunting spot on Friday evening and the doggie was laying under an old broken refrigerator. We heard him whining, it was all over from there. I wasn't going to leave him there!!

My eldest, Rugby is from a shelter and was so flea infested that when I gave her a bath, she took it. I think because it made her feel better, like she could feel the fleas dying on her. She still isn't bad to give a bath I think from that incident.

So, what now then? Are you going to find puppy a new home? You have a limited window, I've found. You have to find him a new home before you become too attached and you then can't bear to give him away ;)

Schmims-I felt really bad for Rusty because he was actually bleeding from where the fleas were biting him, so I know that flea shampoo had to burn. Poor puppy.

Fyrchk-I lub you.

Kira-We became attached almost immediately. We're going to keep him and hide him from the landlord if need be. They don't bother us, really. After all the puppy has been through, I don't want to send him somewhere else. Besides, he probably looks at us as his saviors.

What if he escaped from puupy prison and the wardens are looking for him?

What if he's on the run from the dog mafia? You could have some unsavory pit bulls sniffing around.

On a serious note. Get it to the vet asap to check for doggie diseases.
